SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 12, 2018 -- Cohesity, the leader of hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced it has been recognized on the inaugural “2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Software” list. Based on 84 customer reviews, Cohesity earned the highest overall rating of 4.8 of 5 stars in this market as of February 12. Cohesity received reviews from customers across a wide range of industries, including finance, health care, professional services, education, energy, manufacturing, media, communications, construction, retail, and transportation.
“From our inception, Cohesity has been obsessively focused on customer success and delivering value — from designing products that solve their biggest secondary storage challenges to offering world-class support. We believe that receiving the ‘2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for Data Center Backup and Recovery Software’ distinction validates that we are successfully delivering on our mission,” said Lynn Lucas, chief marketing officer, Cohesity. “To us, the reviews provide evidence that our web-scale, hyperconverged secondary storage solution helps enterprises simplify and extract new value from backup and recovery.”
Gartner defines the data center backup and recovery software market as being focused on providing backup capabilities for upper-end midmarket and large-enterprise environments. To qualify for this distinction, vendors must have at least one product that Gartner’s research analysts designate as relevant to the market category, must have 50 or more published customer reviews within the 12-month submission period, and an average overall rating of 4.200 stars or greater. Reviews published must pass Gartner’s validation, conflict of interest and moderation process.
Included in the ratings on Gartner Peer Insights was a review by a chief information officer in the healthcare industry that described Cohesity DataProtect as a “great product, very robust, and well-supported,” and added, “Flexibility is much improved over our previous solution.”
A review by a chief information officer in the finance industry called Cohesity’s solution the “new evolution in backup,” citing its “speed and reliability” and “innovative backups.”
A senior systems administrator at an energy and utilities company posted a review that stated, “Cohesity DataProtect is a refreshingly easy solution to implement and use … Working with Cohesity regularly has been a real time saver. The solution has been much faster and reliable than our old one.”
Another review by a director of technical operations in the education sector called Cohesity’s system a “revolutionary backup and recovery solution” that is “truly and amazing product and the support has been excellent.”
The vice president of infrastructure at a health care company posted a review saying the “Cohesity solution exceeds our overall expectations — product is a perfect fit for us,” and continued that “Cohesity assisted us from POC through the lab and test phase all the way to production migration. Any and all requirements were met and when we confronted challenges as in features or capabilities not being available, Cohesity quickly provided the required enhancements.”
