Now that “Clash Royale” Season 1 is well underway, it’s time to take more about the newly added legendary card that’s been introduced. The Fisherman is quickly becoming one of the favorites of top players, especially for those who have a penchant for beat-down decks.

The card’s mechanics is the first to be introduced of its kind, shaking the current “Clash Royale” meta and bringing new gameplay into the fold. So what deck suits the Fisherman best?

As mentioned earlier, the Fisherman thrives on a deck that takes advantage of his grapple ability, InvenGlobal reported. Sparky is one of the best cards to pair this with given that you can pull an opponent’s advancing unit towards the other lane and have Sparky blast its health points out. Of course, low cost “Clash Royale” cards are also needed not just for support but also to cycle quickly through the deck.

Clash Royale troops that suit well with the new legendary

So a Barbarian Barrel, Giant Snowball, Minions, and Mega Minion combos well with the Fisherman. For the beat-down part, you’ll either want a Giant or a Goblin Giant as a tank. Previous “Clash Royale” decks have mostly centered on aggressive gameplay, but the game has slowed down since then what with the introduction of low-cost, efficient spells.

What’s important to remember is that the “Clash Royale” Fisherman should not be used as a starting card but rather as a counter for what the opposition is cooking in a lane. Thus, Sparky and the Giant should always be placed at the back. See what sort of counter the opponent makes and respond accordingly. Most of the time, seeing a Sparky or a Giant being deployed on one lane would lead an opponent to attack the other lane.

Evolving gameplay of Clash Royale

This is where the Fisherman comes in. With a Sparky fully charged, a Giant or a Hog Rider barreling down a lane can be pulled towards the Sparky and have those units get blasted by the charged attack. If they survive, they’ll even activate your King Tower if you position the Fisherman right. Support troops at the back can be easily taken care of with the abovementioned low-elixir units, allowing you to cycle through your tower breakers and making the opponent dance to your tune. A “Clash Royale” deck that heavily counters this Fisherman/Sparky/Giant combo are those that rely on flying units, so be sure to have low-cost troops that can deal with them.

But even then, it’s best to leave the lane open where the opponent is attacking and focus on the other side. Players who run flying decks also carry with them spells and units that can counter their hand, which usually means that any response from the attack would be dealt with expeditiously. But don’t fret. “Clash Royale” is currently shaping up to be beat-down meta at the moment and not too many
