China’s Luckin Coffee is set to debut in Southeast Asia via Singapore’s Ngee Ann City shopping center and Marina Square at the end of March.
The coffee shop chain is eyeing 10 stores in the region by April, including one at Tanjong Pagar’s Guoco Tower in Singapore.
Luckin Coffee is set to lock horns with chains already established locally, including Starbucks, Flash Coffee, and Kopi Kenangan.
The brand is also in talks with franchise partners to expand in Thailand.
The Southeast Asian launch marks Luckin Coffee’s second attempt at international expansion after India and the Middle East/North Africa.
Singapore’s ready-to-drink coffee and tea market will achieve sales of $1.1 billion this year.
