The Central Bank of Samoa has released a warning against digital currency, where it has advised the general public to be cautious and diligent in dealing with "get rich quick" schemes or digital currency investments.
The issue of warning follows various get rich quick schemes and digital currency investment opportunities that have come into limelight and spreading across the nation through social media and other modes.
“Please contact the Central Bank of Samoa if you are not quite sure about these types of investments,” the bank stated.
The bank has asked the public to contact the officials if they come across difficult and complex financial concepts and investments. Also, it has asked the public to ensure that they completely understand the working principle, benefits and risks involved, before investing in these types of ventures.
