SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 03, 2017 -- Nozomi Networks, the pioneer in real-time cybersecurity and operational visibility for industrial control systems (ICS), today announced that Cenovus Energy Inc. (TSX:CVE) (NYSE:CVE) has selected Nozomi Networks at its strategic ICS cybersecurity provider. Nozomi Networks will equip Cenovus’s remote upstream production sites with real-time monitoring, security and analytics to ensure operations are running effectively and without compromise.
“When it came to cybersecurity protection for critical systems, we wanted the most advanced technology available," said Andrew Dutton, Group Lead at Cenovus Energy. "After extensive review, we chose Nozomi Networks. They brought superior know-how in ICS cybersecurity, and a proven track record with other industry leaders. We're using SCADAguardian as the basis of our ICS cyber program from operational monitoring to ICS threat detection.”
Organized in 2009, Cenovus’s primary operation focuses on two key production platforms. One involves top-tier assets in the oil sands region in northern Alberta where operators drill for oil and use specialized methods to pump it to the surface. The other, a large land base with significant production in the Deep Basin, a liquids-rich natural gas fairway in Alberta and British Columbia. The company also holds 50-percent ownership in two U.S. refineries.
“We’re pleased to welcome Cenovus into a growing family of Nozomi Networks customers,” said Co-founder and Chief Product Officer Andrea Carcano. “Nozomi Networks is committed to supporting Cenovus – and all of our customers – with the market’s most advanced ICS cybersecurity solutions. Cenovus will be leveraging a proven solution that’s been protecting global leaders in oil and gas, energy utilities and transportation since 2013.”
