A few days ago, leaks of the new Call of Duty: World War II Zombie Mode trailer started circulating the web and frustrating Sledgehammer. Finally, the official version is out and it is stunning. What’s more, it would seem that pre-orders can net gamers a nice camo for their weapons with a zombie theme that looks like lightning.
The trailer itself features stunning scenes of gore, messed up zombies faces, and a terrifying voice over narrating something about creating the Devil. There are no gameplay scenes, sadly, but the premise of the reveal seems great. What’s more, practically all of the zombie modes that past COD games have featured were excellent, so there’s no reason to doubt Sledgehammer’s ability to deliver this time.
As to what players can actually expect from the new mode, the YouTube video’s description includes a short summary of what the mode will involve. It seems this time, gamers will find an even deeper and more engaging narrative.
“Sledgehammer Games delivers an original and terrifying new co-op survival experience in Call of Duty®: WWII Nazi Zombies. Players will embark on a chilling and mysterious journey through a snowy Bavarian village in Mittelburg, Germany, as they attempt to recover priceless works of art stolen by the Axis powers in World War II. This village holds a shadowy secret key to an unimaginable and monstrous power. Nothing is as it seems in this zombies horror, as a dark and sinister plot unfolds to unleash an invincible Nazi army of the dead,” the description reads.
Those who pre-order the game will also get access to the Nazi Zombies Camo, Gamespot reports, which makes guns look like they are being electrocuted with purple lightning. The camo might be a little immersion breaking since there were no such things in the 40s, but it’s cool nevertheless.
