CJ Logistics Corporation, the largest and oldest delivery firm in South Korea, introduced its next-generation parcel delivery system on Tuesday, March 26. The company is set to offer this upgraded service called the LoIS Parcel throughout the country.
As per Pulse News, this would be the first time in 10 years that CJ Logistics spruced up its delivery system. The company modernized its service to better serve its customers.
Rehabilitation of the Delivery Framework
CJ Logistics’ new parcel system can handle up to 20 million units of data per day. It also has a feature that will improve stability via a cloud-based infrastructure. Currently, the company is said to be processing up to 10 million packages a day, so the introduction of the LoIS Parcel is a huge improvement to the system.
CJ Logistics decided to upgrade its system in 2021 as the number of data it needs to process soars exponentially. The continuous increase in the delivery volume also contributed to the move. In any case, the revamp was finally completed this year and is now ready for nationwide rollout.
Next-Gen LoIS Parcel System
LoIS Parcel, which CJ Logistics developed to enhance its delivery service, is a system that brings together and oversees all data related to the parcel delivery process—from reservation to sorting to dispatch and delivery. It also includes the management of the mobile app used by delivery drivers or courier agents for pickup and delivery assignments of packages.
The Korea Economic Daily added that this is a cloud-based delivery system that can address previous issues such as the inability to process all the parcels on time, especially during peak seasons like the holidays when the volume of packages surges to more than triple. With the LoIS Parcel, operations will never be disrupted again, even with the high volume of items to process.
“With the introduction of LoIS Parcel, we have established a foundation to improve service quality while proactively responding to future environmental changes,” Choi Woo Seok, CJ Logistics’s vice president, said in a statement. “We will continue to invest and lead the cutting-edge of the delivery industry.”
