Snapchat, a video messaging application, has recently released its first in-app purchase feature for their 'Replays' along with a new face effect lenses. The 'Replays' feature is available only in the U.S. as of now, reports Money Times.
“When you’re using the camera to take a selfie, just press and hold on your face to activate Lenses. You can play with Lenses before taking a Snap — just select one from the row at the bottom and follow the on-screen instructions!”, the company said in a blog post.
The Replay feature was introduced in Additional Services almost two years ago, which provided one Replay per Snapchatter per day. However, the company has now got rid of this constraint that sometimes frustrated millions of Snapchatters who received many daily Snaps deserving of a Replay.
“Today, U.S. Snapchatters can purchase extra Replays, starting at 3 for $0.99. You can use a Replay on any Snap you receive, but you can only Replay any Snap once. They’re a little pricey — but time is money!” Snapchat added.
The Guardian said that there is no limit on how many 'Replays' users wanted to buy, but a snap can only be replayed once.
With replay limit out of the way, businesses can benefit from this new feature to attract more customers. Businesses can make a great brand presence by creating a high impact snap, as social media users will use their replays to record the snap and share it with others.
Moreover, as the price of 'Replays' is a bit costly, businesses can use it as their giveaway to lucky snapchatter who promoted their product. A competition based on this in-app purchase will likely see users getting involved with the business and build a great mutual relationship.
