“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 was not greenlit by FOX and it created chaos and “save the show” campaigns because many people just love it. The good news was that the calls were heard and it was saved by NBC back in May. This means that it will be back on television for another run.

What’s more, aside from being saved, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 will get more episodes as the order was expanded to 18 episodes, Deadline reported. This is five episodes more so the story will be longer this time.

Filming

Three months after being saved and revived by the peacock network, the cast and crew are back on the set to film new episodes. They were officially back to work on Aug. 20 and this was revealed as some of the cast members like Melissa Fumero announced it on social media.

Plot

While “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 is set to debut on NBC, it is still expected to continue the story from the fifth season. The change in the network has no effect on the plot so it will pick up from the point where season 5 ended.

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 will reveal the outcome of Captain Raymond Holt's (Andre Braugher) candidacy for the police commissioner position. If he wins, this would be a big promotion and the 99th precinct will surely undergo some major changes. It is also likely that fans will get to see Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and Detective Amy Santiago’s (Melissa Fumero) honeymoon scenario.

Captain Holt’s run for a higher post was a cliffhanger ending since it was not known if he made it or not. Talking about this finale, TV Line quoted co-creator Dan Goor as saying, “We thought it’d be fun to have a cliffhanger and wonder what’s going to happen next year. And the truth of the matter is, it’s nice to give yourself time as writers and producers to figure out if the idea you have is the right idea for next season.”

Cast

Most of the cast members are coming back for “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6. We all can expect Melissa Fumero (Amy Santiago), Andy Samberg (Jake Peralta), Andre Braugher (Raymond Holt), Stephanie Beatriz (Rosa Diaz), Terry Crews (Terry Jeffords), Chelsea Peretti (Gina Linetti), Joe Lo Truglio (Charles Boyle), Dirk Blocker (Michael Hitchcock) and Joel McKinnon Miller (Norm Scully).

Air Date

“Brooklyn Nine-Nine” season 6 has been included in NBC’s midseason schedule, as per Variety. It means the show is arriving between January and May 2019.
