'Bridgerton' Season 3 Release Date, Cast, Spoilers and Preview: Everything We Know So Far

Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming "Bridgerton" Season 3.

For the past two years, “Bridgerton” has grabbed the world's imagination, leaving spectators daydreaming about house gowns, diamond tiaras, ribbon chokers, and feather-trimmed heels. In the upcoming “Bridgerton” Season 3, Lady Whistledown is poised to return to more scandal, gossip, and intrigue that will have the ton clutching their pearls.

The upcoming installment, which has been in the works for several years, will focus on the dramatic ups and downs of Miss Penelope Featherington and Mr. Colin Bridgerton's love story. “Bridgerton” Season 3 will supposedly match the plot of Julia Quinn's fourth novel in the series, Romancing Mister Bridgerton, although fans should not expect the third season to be especially identical to the material.

Despite possibly less steamy s*x moments and the disappearance of Page, better known as Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings, viewers responded positively to Season 2. After binge-watching Season 2, fans of the program have been left in sadness, and they are now anticipating a third installment. While fans wait for additional information, here is what we know about “Bridgerton” Season 3.

Bridgerton’ Season 3 Release Date

Because production wrapped in March 2023, Netflix is expected to release “Bridgerton” Season 3 in late autumn or early winter 2023. A Christmas release, similar to Season 1, is also possible. Remember that Netflix has confirmed not just “Bridgerton” Season 3 but also Season 4.

Glamour previously reported that “Bridgerton” Season 3 would premiere on December 14, 2023, but the magazine issued a retraction on the previously reported release date. "A previous version of this article said that Bridgerton season three will release on December 14. That is not the case, as a premiere date has not been announced,” the magazine’s statement read.

However, as of this writing, Netflix has not officially confirmed a premiere date for “Bridgerton” Season 3, but anticipate them to do so shortly.

Bridgerton’ Season 3 Cast

The Netflix series' big ensemble cast will undergo significant changes, however, some recognizable characters will stay. The majority of the Bridgerton siblings have announced their return to the manor for “Bridgerton” Season 3.

Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Luke Newton will reprise their roles as Eloise, Benedict, and Colin in “Bridgerton” Season 3. Jonathan Bailey will return as the 9th Viscount Anthony Bridgerton, the eldest Bridgerton, with Simone Ashley as his new wife, the Viscountess Kate Bridgerton.

In “Bridgerton” Season 3, Nicola Coughlan will return as the lovely and deceitful Penelope Featherington, commonly known as Lady Whistledown, alongside Harriet Cains as Phillipa Featherington, Bessie Carter as Prudence Featherington, and Polly Walker as Lady Portia Featherington. Ruth Gemmell, Golda Rosheuvel, and Adjoa Andoh return as Violet Bridgerton, Queen Charlotte, and Lady Danbury, respectively.

As if that is not enough, three additional actors were added to the cast roster in July 2022, presumably to represent a few of Penelope's new suitors. James Phoon will play Harry Dankworth, Sam Phillips from The Crown will play Lord Debling, and Daniel Francis from Once Upon a Time will play Marcus Anderson. Hannah New, who played Maleficent in the film, has been cast as Lady Tilley Arnold, a wealthy widow who values her freedom and independence, in “Bridgerton” Season 3.

Bridgerton’ Season 3 Spoilers

Nicola Coughlan sparked the Ton in May 2022 when she said that “Bridgerton” Season 3 would not follow the timeline of the book collection. While the third book in the series, “An Offer From a Gentleman,” focuses on Benedict Bridgerton, the fourth book in the series, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” skips over him.

“From Shondaland and new showrunner, Jess Brownell, Bridgerton is back for its third season and finds Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long -held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season. She has, however, decided it's time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope's attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he's disheartened to realize that Penelope. the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder. Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly, Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in a very unlikely place, while Penelope's growing presence in the ton makes it all the more difficult to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret,” the official “Bridgerton” Season 3 synopsis read, per Collider.
