Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are estranged couple now after filing for divorce in 2016, two years after getting married in Château Miraval in southern France in 2014. The ex-couple are not just in court for their divorce but they are also battling for child custody of their children.
Previously, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie made headlines when the latter accused Jennifer Aniston’s ex of not paying meaningful child support that the actor denied. The allegations started a heated conflict that was publicized so the issue got bigger and bigger instead of being resolved.
It was indeed a nasty battle that only quieted down when the judge advised them to hush and refrain from commenting about their conflict via the media. After a few months, it was said that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie agreed to be civil as their cases are still being processed.
Now that the former couple has kept their child custody and divorce out of the public eye, The Daily Mail reported that they are now close to reaching an agreement. This means that they will soon have the decision with regards to where the kids should stay and how the couple should handle financial issues regarding the kids’ support.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are expected to wrap things up regarding child custody but their divorce case remains. It was not known when their paperwork will be finalized but it should happen soon as well.
Oddly enough, The Blast reported that the presiding judge on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce and custody cases was the same one who married them four years ago. Judge John Ouderkirk presided over their lavish wedding that was attended by just close friends and family.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie reportedly contacted Judge Ouderkirk so as to ensure that their divorce battle would remain private. The two will have to attend the first trial that was scheduled for Dec. 4.
