'Boruto' episode 118 release date, spoilers: Boruto's reunion with Sasuke awaits after Konohamaru arc

Teasers for more upcoming episodes are now available revealing that “Boruto” episode 118 is not the last installment of the Konohamaru and Lemon arc. But fans might want to be more patient because an episode where Boruto reunites with his mentor Sasuke awaits.

Many fans are still quite disappointed that the anime series has been running on filler arcs for a while now. Meanwhile, the events in the manga have already escalated to a battle between Naruto and karma seal expert Jigen. To be fair, the current storyline focused on Konohamaru, and a new character named Lemon offers interesting plots, especially in “Boruto” episode 118.

‘Boruto’ episode 118 spoilers: Konohamaru learns a new technique

A major plot to build Konohamaru’s character was foreshadowed in the previous episode. While Lemon was telling Konohamaru and Boruto about the memory-absorbing creature called Souma, the Third Hokage’s grandson recalled Hiruzen mastered a sealing technique after he made a contract with Shinigami. This may also mean that “Boruto” episode 118 is going to be an emotional installment for Konohamaru.

It can be recalled that Hiruzen used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal technique in an attempt to lock away Orochimaru's soul. But for it to work, he had to sacrifice his own life as well. In “Boruto” episode 118, Konohamaru is going to learn that technique from the very lessons that his grandfather left. This turn of events is not surprising since this is an arc about Konohamaru. He is resolved of wanting to become a Hokage and major part of it is because of his aspirations of his grandfather's legacy.

The story about Souma will continue through “Boruto” episode 119 where Konohamaru’s new knowledge will be likely put to the test. In the translated synopsis by OrganicDinosaur, Boruto and Konohamaru appear at the wedding of Lemon to try and stop Souma. However, it appears that the monster will not go down easily. The available spoiler is brief and unclear if this battle is going to end in the same installment.

‘Boruto’ episode 120: Boruto and Sasuke reunites

The synopsis of “Boruto” episode 120 indicates that it will focus on a meeting between Sasuke and Boruto. The latter will secretly leave Hidden Leaf and proceed to the Wind Country where Sasuke is. Unfortunately, the reason for Boruto’s journey to find his teacher is unclear if it is connected to the Konohamaru arc.

“Boruto” episode 118 will be released on Aug. 4. The 119th and 120th episode will follow with the usual one week gap between installments.
