The New Team 7’s plan against Boro appeared promising, but they still encountered some issues in executing it. This has forced their battle to be extended in "Boruto" chapter 42.

Kawaki is now being considered a part of Team 7; hence, the name New Team 7. While he has proven to be a valuable member of the group, it seems like their problems in "Boruto" chapter 42 would arise because of him, too.

'Boruto' chapter 42 predictions: Will Kawaki cause problems to the New Team 7’s plan?

Back in chapter 40, Kawaki and Boruto attacked Boro recklessly, and that did not help them get closer to saving Naruto. While Mitsuki joined the previous actions, he proved that he was better at keeping his focus, and his decisions were essential in identifying Boro’s strengths and weaknesses.

Moving forward to chapter 41, the New Team 7 was moving more in sync under Sarada’s leadership. Her Sharingan helped them identify Boro’s virus and scientific ninja tools while Mitsuki was the reason they got an antidote to the paralyzing dark mist. Boruto managed to keep his cool and stay focused on the plan. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said with Kawaki.

Just when the New Team 7 has cornered Boro, the enemy disrupted their plan by taunting them and charging towards Naruto. This affected Kawaki the most. Instead of maintaining their formation, he went after Boro much to Sarada’s disappointment. The final panels suggest that the New Team 7 might have to improvise again in "Boruto" chapter 42.

While Kawaki did have shortcomings, it should be noted that he is still not the same in combat as Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki. These three went through formal training that instilled in them the importance of focus and sticking to the team’s plan.

Kawaki, despite his brief moments with Naruto, did not go through that explaining why he was carried away more than Boruto was when Boro went towards the sealed dome. What happens in "Boruto" chapter 42 will likely highlight Sarada’s leadership even more as well as the capabilities of Boruto and Mitsuki to adjust from their original plan.

'Boruto' chapter 42 release date

"Boruto" chapter 42 would very likely have another action-packed story for the fans, but it might also provide updates from Konohagakure and Kara’s hideout. The only downside is fans will have to wait until next year to read the new installment.

"Boruto" chapter 42 will be the manga’s first-ever installment as a new decade begins in 2020. The new chapter comes out on Monday, Jan. 20, and can be read through Manga Plus and Viz’s official websites for free.
