“Boruto” Episode 97 will be continuing on the various character developments that series writer Ukyō Kodachi have been employing. The previous release saw Namida trying to master her sound-based jutsu.
While the frightful young girl managed to make significant progress in her endeavor, she still has a long way to go to truly get a proficient grasp of her abilities. Now, “Boruto” Episode 97 will have Shikadai take the spotlight. The young genin has confessed to his father that he plans to study the world of politics, opting to take a hiatus from his ninja training for two years, BlastingNews reported.
For his part, Shikamaru is supporting his son’s decision and wants him to pursue whatever dreams brewing within him. “Boruto” Episode 97 will undoubtedly feature Shikadai’s intelligence again since this is the character’s greatest strength. This isn’t surprising given he’s the son of Shikamaru, a ninja who also possesses great levels of intellect.
While Shikamaru’s support bodes well for Shikadai, his decision does have consequences for his team. With him taking a two-year break from ninja missions, Moegi’s team will be one member short. At the moment, it’s still unclear who will fill the shoes of Shikadai and it’s expected that “Boruto” Episode 97 will reveal who this substitute will be.
As for what spurred Shikadai’s decision, it appears that the events that took place in the Mitsuki arc may have something to do with it. Whatever it may be, the young genin seems determined enough to take this path and “Boruto” Episode 97 will show the character’s conviction towards this goal.
Another potential reason for Shikadai wanting to study politics is his interaction with Ryogi. There is no denying that meeting the Byakuya Gang member changed Shikadai in a subtle yet significant way. And now that subtlety is coming to the surface. Regarding the release date of “Boruto” Episode 97, it’s slated to air on March 10.
