The Mitsuki arc is pretty slow but it is established that Kokuyo is currently the noteworthy villain in the series. Teasers for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79 suggest that viewers will finally be witnessing his real power in a battle against the titular protagonist.
So far, the only fact known about Kokuyo is the attack on Uo and Sao on the night Mitsuki left Hidden Leaf Village. His attack was powerful enough to send the Konohagakure guards in a coma. He could have killed Sao and Uo if Mitsuki did not improvise to convince him their hearts had already stopped beating. This is the threat that awaits Boruto in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79.
While the translated synopsis for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79 sounds terrifying, it also indicates that Boruto and Sarada will finally see Mitsuki again. However, they have to go through Kokuyo first.
The episode summary says the Hidden Leaf Village will send a Jonin to be with Boruto and Sarada as they continue searching for Mitsuki. However, all of their powers combined will not even stand a chance against Kokuyo in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79.
On a positive note, a certain “helper” will appear in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79 as Boruto and the others fight Kokuyo. Thanks to his/her/its arrival, the episode synopsis hints they will later defeat Kokuyo and be able to talk to Mitsuki again.
There are many possible characters that can fit the profile of a “helper” in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79. The synopsis only mentions Boruto and a Jonin are going to be dominated by Kokuyo. So does this mean the battle will be graced by the presence of a Kage — Naruto, perhaps?
In the end, Mitsuki, Boruto and Sarada are expected to get their reunion. Will Mitsuki finally explain why he chose to leave? Hopefully, “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 79 covers that once it airs on Oct. 28.
