“Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76 is still part of the Mitsuki arc but it could also be leading up to something big for Boruto. A fan theory suggests that Naruto’s son will later become a snake sage.
The next episode is titled “Incurring Wrath,” which could mean a couple of ways but still linked to the challenge ahead in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76. The White Snake sage challenged Boruto to collect Garaga’s Reverse Scales of Imperial Wrath before helping them decipher Mitsuki’s message. But the title might also be referring to a serious danger coming up.
The old woman was almost sure that Boruto and his friends will not survive the task. But fans expect that Boruto will rise to the occasion, plus the fact that having a main character dead in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76 is very unlikely.
In the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76 preview, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the giant snake Garaga is missing its right eye, where a scar is also found. Reddit user omgitsmelvin suggested that it could be a hint about Boruto’s future.
“Personally I think that Boruto will become a snake sage. Sasuke is his mentor … [and] know how to use a form of sage mode,” the fan explained. “In the previews of episode 76 we see that Garaga is also missing its right eye with a nice scar … Boruto is also missing his right eye.”
The same fan also explained that episode 75 might have foreshadowed the possibility of Boruto becoming a snake sage as well. Before going to the mission in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76, the old woman told Boruto that the three Ryuchi Cave trials he endured will be rewarded with lessons of Senjutsu a.k.a. Sage Techniques.
While more mysteries build up in the anime series, there will be a one-week hiatus before the “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 76 is released. Instead of this week, the “Incurring Wrath” episode will be officially available on Oct. 7.
