If there is ever a competition for dumbest anime episode ever, “Boruto” Episode 102 would have to place quite high on the list of contenders. This is because the upcoming segment will feature so many tropes in the industry that it’s not even entertaining. There is the mad scientist trying to use a forbidden power to create super soldiers and the protagonists inevitably need to stop them. Suffice it to say, there is no creativity that went into this episode.
For those who still enjoy watching this cliché of an anime, the synopsis for “Boruto” Episode 102 featured over at Comic Book might be of interest. Translations for other episodes that go up to five are available as well, so viewers can go ahead and read those if they would rather not watch them.
“Boruto and his comrades are trying to interfere with the plans to use the cursed seal's [power]. Even though Boruto and Suigetsu are headed over to [Juugo's] location, the[y] get ensnared by a trap and get put in a tough position! On the other hand, Sarada and Karin employ diversionary tactics to battle their enemy. In addition, Wasabi and Namida have gotten separated from Boruto and his comrades. They get rescued by Sumire, but an enemy that she had fought against just a few days ago had reappeared in front of her! In order to protect the two of them, Sumire battles alongside Nue,” the episode reads.
While there are a lot of things going on in that description, the main aspect that viewers will want to focus on in “Boruto” Episode 102 is the plot. It basically features a scientist trying to do what Orochimaru successfully did in using Juugo’s power for their own gain. Boruto, who is trying to be more like Sasuke, will be trying to stop him.
Anyone who watched the original anime will already have seen all of this before, so there really is no reason to watch “Boruto” Episode 102 too. For those who still want to, the episode will air on April 14.
