SEATTLE, March 20, 2018 -- Blue Nile, the largest online retailer of certified diamonds and fine jewelry, today announced the appointment of Katie Zimmerman as Chief Merchandising Officer. Ms. Zimmerman starts immediately and reports to Chief Executive Officer Jason Goldberger. This is Blue Nile’s fifth C-level addition since October, and its second in two weeks.
“Katie brings a unique eye and thoughtful analysis to merchandising bridal and fashion jewelry categories,” said Mr. Goldberger. “Her skillset is critical to unlocking the sourcing, assortment, and sales wins that will further Blue Nile’s position as the industry leader.”
Ms. Zimmerman joins Blue Nile following a successful career with Zale Jewelers, a division of Signet Jewelers. During her tenure, Ms. Zimmerman worked her way from Assistant Buyer to Director of Merchandising, and most recently served as Vice President of Merchandising starting in 2014. Her accomplishments include developing and launching multiple proprietary collections, increasing margin contribution, and partnering with iconic designers and brands.
Ms. Zimmerman received her Bachelor of Science degree in textiles and apparel/retail merchandising from the University of Texas, Austin. She is relocating to the Seattle area from Dallas, Texas.
