“Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 2 is up next after an explosive opening on Sept. 28. It highlighted the death of Frank Reagan’s wife, Linda, who was killed while doing her job as a nurse.
Her death was revealed to be accidental as the chopper she was riding crashed in Medevac. She was saving lives at the time of her demise so her departure was described as heroic. However, as the show progressed, it was suggested that there is a small doubt that the incident was an accident.
The unfortunate things happening in the Reagan family -- the torching of Danny’s home and then his mother’s death -- may have been planned by Louis Delgado (Lou Diamond Phillips), who is a member of a Mexican cartel. He himself made everyone think he is responsible for them when during questioning, he told Danny, “First your house burns up and then a chopper goes down — that’s some pretty bad mojo you carry around.”
So, was Linda’s tragedy really work-related? Via email, showrunner Kevin Wade told TV Line, “Are we to surmise that the cartel sabotaged the Medevac copter? The fact that Delgado brings it up certainly sounds alarms for Danny, and likely does for the audience as well.”
Now, viewers can get some answers in “Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 2, titled “Meet the New Boss.” In this episode, it is suggested that Frank Reagan may be in danger.
As per CBS, the “Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 2 synopsis reads: “Gormley looks to Danny and Baez for help tracking down a former NYPD detective he believes may be a threat to Frank's safety.”
Moreover, Erin will get into more office politics as she decides to open an already closed case, while Jamie’s transfer to a precinct comes with a string of issues. Lastly, Frank and Baker will work together on the investigation of a complaint against an SVU detective.
“Blue Bloods” season 9 episode 2 will air on Oct. 5 at 10 p.m. Bebe Neuwirth will make her appearance as a guest in this episode.
