Blockchain Technologies Corp. (BTC), a New York-based blockchain and cryptocurrency software technology company and startup accelerator, has released new web app ‘VoteWatcher’ that allows voters to report suspicious behavior at polling sites on election day.
Earlier in September, BTC revealed that it is working on its tamper resistant blockchain voting machine. The reporting system is live and by using blockchain as the means of storage, the reports submitted by voters on the website will become a permanent record which can be viewed by anyone and cannot be altered or deleted, the release stated.
“Paper ballots are the only way to capture voters’ intent that people have trusted for eons. The patented voting system we have developed uses the blockchain to bring increased transparency and auditability to the counting of ballots,” Nick Spanos, CEO of Blockchain Technologies Corp. said.
With the app, voters can enter contact information if they wish to be contacted for details regarding their observation on any suspicious act or behavior. The company remains committed to the effectiveness of a paper ballot-based system and the integrity of the American electoral process.
Based in New York, BTC brings sorely-needed technology and increased transparency to the election process. The company earlier this year live recorded Iowa Caucus results on the blockchain and conducted elections at the Libertarian Party state conventions in Texas and New York.
