Marvel has yet to make any official announcement about “Black Panther 2.” But rumors are rife that the much-awaited sequel will be released in early 2021.

One of the latest “Black Panther 2” rumor came from a 4Chan discussion (via We Got This Covered). It is claiming that the sequel, considered to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4, could be given a Feb. 12, 2021 premiere date.

The said “Black Panther 2” schedule was reportedly spotted in a pictured document allegedly containing MCU Phase 4 plans. However, fans should know by now that such form of information leak must be taken as mere speculation until Marvel officially confirms it. At the moment, the production company has only announced one post-"Avengers: Endgame” movie — “Spider-Man: Far From Home” — and it is slated to premiere on July 2 in the United States.

On the other hand, there are some clues that could be hinting at the release of “Black Panther 2.” For one, there are reports that director Ryan Coogler and lead actor Chadwick Boseman renewed their contracts with Marvel. Fans who have seen “Avengers: Endgame” can also agree that T’Challa (Boseman), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and Shuri (Letitia Wright) have enough screen time in the movie that could only mean fans would be revisiting Wakanda in an upcoming MCU film.

Marvel is expected to make big announcements at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con happening on July 18-21. There is a chance that the company would reveal premiere dates for the anticipated MCU Phase 4 movies, including “Black Panther 2.”

The first movie focused on introducing Wakanda and its historical goal of protecting its natural resources by avoiding trades with outside territories. King T’Challa later announced at a United Nations gathering that Wakanda is open for business — something that Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) was a strong advocate of in the film. “Black Panther 2” will most likely explore the changes in Wakanda’s government and international affairs. Given Nakia’s nature of work, she is most likely getting more work in the sequel.
