Both want to be praised but they seem to be not getting their wish as much as they want, especially the former, so their face-off was fiercer than expected.
The ending of the battle was sad and not simply because Finral lost the match against his younger brother. It was an emotional fight because Langris who was so consumed by his hatred towards his older brother attempted a final blow that would kill his already unconscious sibling.
