Bitcoin Core to deliberate over scaling up and beyond in July meet

The team of Bitcoin Core, an open source client of bitcoin, will hold an industry gathering this month, which would feature members of bitcoin's development and mining communities.

According to a previous report CoinDesk.com, the event will be held in California and would witness representatives from Blockstream, HaoBTC and F2Pool and would focus on the question of scaling. While the recent reports by CoinDesk say that the event organized by contributors to Bitcoin Core, will not just focus on the issue of scaling alone.

Apart from the issue of scaling, the gathering is now being labeled by the Core team organizers as an invite-only social function that aims to improve relationships. The event will also feature activities like sightseeing, community meals and informal discussions in order to reduce the "language and cultural gap" dividing the attendees on larger issues.

“Given what has gone on in the past, everyone is afraid of being vilified or worse and that the narrative people take away from the event will be wrong,” Core developer BTC Drak told CoinDesk. “We all contribute to the bitcoin ecosystem, and if there are constant negativity and sparring, it doesn't help anyone.”

The meeting comes ahead of next Scaling Bitcoin in October this year. It is a technical event that brings together the digital currency’s global development community.

The organizers have also promised to make few materials available to the public in order to improve transparency. This comes with a condition that participants are free to take their notes without disclosing the identity of speakers or attributing to any ideas or concepts.

Bitcoin Core is the open source client of the bitcoin cryptocurrency. The software validates the whole Blockchain including all transactions ever done. Moreover, a wallet, which can be used to transfer funds, is included by default.
