‘Big Little Lies’ season 1’s episode 5, titled “Once Bitten,” will follow Jane as she is confronted with the Ziggy-Amabella issue at school when she meets with the principal and teacher. She is also set on going on a trip with Madeline. Meanwhile, Celeste may spill her secrets to Dr. Reisman during a solo session.
The synopsis for “Once Bitten” posted on TV Guide reads, “Madeline (Reese Witherspoon) gets encouraging news about the play from her director, but is unnerved by a significant change in his demeanor.
Meanwhile, Principal Nippal (guest star P.J. Byrne) and Ms. Barnes (guest star Virginia Kull) discuss the Ziggy-Amabella situation with Jane (Shailene Woodley); and Celeste (Nicole Kidman) has a solo session with Dr. Reisman (guest star Robin Weigert), who presses her for more details on her marriage.”
In the upcoming episode, Madeline will receive good news about the play. However, she will grow concerned about director Joseph Bachman’s (guest star Santiago Cabrera) newly icy demeanor.
Meanwhile, Jane will get into a serious meeting with the school principal and a class teacher to discuss Ziggy’s (Iain Armitage) apparent bullying of Amabella (Ivy George). They are set to express their conclusions about the matter. It will be interesting to see how Jane will react.
In the promo, Renata (Laura Dern) finds bruised up bite marks on Amabella’s back while dressing her up. She asks her daughter, “What happened? Did somebody bite you?” In the next scene, she screams at her husband Gordon (Jeffrey Nordling), “Someone is biting our daughter!”
Jane will also go out of town with Madeline as hinted by the preview. In one scene from the promo, Madeline tells Jane, “We’re going on a roadtrip to go meet the person that assaulted you and you’re doing target practice?” The next scene shows someone, presumably Jane, holding a loaded gun.
Celeste, on the other hand, is set to have a solo session with Dr. Reisman. The therapist tries to prod her about more details of her disturbed relationship with Perry (Alexander Skarsgard). In the promo, Celeste confesses, “It’s as if we turn each other on by rage.”
Perry and Celeste initially seemed like the perfect married couple until cracks in the marriage began to show, according to Ecumenical News. The two would often get into physical fights as well as mental and emotional abuse.
‘Big Little Lies’ season 1’s episode 5, titled “Once Bitten,” is scheduled to air on March 19, 2017 on HBO. It was directed by Jean-Marc Vallée and written by David E. Kelley. It will be followed by episode 6, titled
"Burning Love," scheduled to be released on March 26.
