Ben Affleck is back in rehab for his alcohol addiction and it was his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, who picked him up and drove him straight to a rehabilitation facility in Malibu. The “Batman” actor was admitted to the rehab on Aug. 22.
According to People, the former “Alias” star was seen arriving at the actor’s home, and while leaving the place, she was shaking and looked very upset. She came out of the house with her ex-husband and an unidentified woman then they drove out for the rehab.
This is the 46-year-old actor’s third time to check into a facility to seek medical help and it was somehow surprising because he looked fine in the past year. He has a good relationship with his ex-wife Jennifer and they were happily co-parenting their three children.
He also had a healthy relationship with SNL producer Lindsay Shookus, but it seems that something went wrong along the way. After his split with Shookus, it appeared that Ben Affleck had rapidly fallen apart again.
It was reported that Ben has been holed up and drinking non-stop in his L.A. mansion. Alcohol deliveries were said to have gone on for days until Jennifer Garner intervened.
E! News reported that it has been two weeks since Ben checked in and he might need to stay longer for more intense treatment.
"Ben is there for as long as he needs to be," a source told the publication. "Like before, he is dedicated to beating this, and however long they feel he should be in, that is the time limit."
The report added that Ben is very serious this time around, so this latest stint in the rehab is not “like the other rehabs he has done in the past.” Also, he signed up for a residential program so he cannot just leave whenever he wants to.
Now, there are people blaming Shauna Sexton, the 22-year-old Playboy model believed to be Ben Affleck’s current girlfriend, for the actor’s alcohol relapse. In response, she hit back, saying, "Never drank around or with him for the record," Shauna said in one response, adding "Don't pollute your brain with tabloid and media bulls**t."
In related news, Us Weekly reported that Ben Affleck’s ex-girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, was spotted in New York City. This made news because this was the first time that she appeared in public since her split with the actor was confirmed.
