Ben Affleck and Shauna Sexton’s relationship does not seem interrupted by the actor’s most recent rehab stint. Reports have it that the 22-year-old model has shown “strong support” for Jennifer Garner’s estranged husband.
A source claimed that Sexton has shown support for Affleck in his third rehab stint “by attending his family sessions,” Entertainment Tonight recently reported. It also appears that the “Argo” actor regularly meets with Sexton during his recent 30-day treatment, which started last Aug. 22 with help from Garner.
However, some of Affleck’s friends were allegedly concerned about Sexton’s constant presence during his program. “She doesn't seem willing to give him the space he needs to stay in rehab,” the same insider said.
On a positive note, Ben Affleck is now reportedly in a much better situation after finishing the 30-day rehab program. Though Jennifer Garner’s ex has successfully completed his treatment, he decided to stay in the facility.
A source who spoke with PEOPLE said, “He is doing much better but needs to continue receiving care.” The insider added that the actor’s latest rehab program “is different” as Affleck appeared to have taken it “more seriously” for the sake of his kids with Garner.
“He doesn’t want his kids to have to go through this again,” PEOPLE’s source said about Affleck. “Ben is really trying very hard to get better. He is taking things day by day, but it seems he plans on staying at the treatment center for at least a couple of more weeks.” Garner and the actor are co-parenting their three children, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6.
Affleck will also maintain a physical fitness routine and has set up a gym in his home, PEOPLE also mentioned. While Garner’s estranged husband attended a live-in rehab program, he was allowed to have activities outside the facility, which explains his short trips outside and reported meetings with Shauna Sexton in the previous weeks.
Though Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck seem to maintain a good relationship, their divorce is still definitely happening. They reportedly agreed on a settlement last month which is to be signed once Affleck finishes his treatment. However, there have not been reports on any updates on whether or not the estranged couple has finally signed the documents to finalize their divorce.
