While fans are still waiting for the “Attack on Titan” season 4 release date to arrive, Hajime Isayama just confirmed what everyone has been dreading to hear. Apparently, he made 2020 his deadline to wrap up the “AoT” manga series which also means that the anime will be coming to an end as well.
The confirmation came from a post made to the official Twitter account for Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine, according to Comic Book. An artwork done by Isayama was uploaded into the account showing the “AoT” character Eren on the cover but it’s the accompanying text that revealed what the creator’s plans are for this year.
In the photo, Eren spoke about his goals for 2020 which is to complete the serialization of “Attack on Titan” this year. To highlight Isayama’s Kodansha even put the hashtag “2020 aspirations” to make sure fans get the creator’s intention.
Well, this is hardly surprising for “Attack on Titan” fans but it is still a bit sad to finally know for certain that their well-loved series is coming to an end. Isayama had already hinted in the past that the manga is nearing its conclusion.
The confirmation also explained why previous reports claimed that the upcoming “Attack on Titan” season 4 will also be the anime series’ last. The anime only sources its story from the manga, which means that wrapping up the manga series will also mean the closure of the anime.
Meanwhile, here are a few “AoT” season 4 spoilers. The battle between the nation of Eldia and the oppressed people is expected to continue next season.
Along the course of the fourth season, new characters and new locations are expected to be introduced as the Scouts continue to meet new people as they travel. The storyline will likely introduce more from the Nine Titans which should be something to look forward to. It’s exciting to see how their powers would compare to that of Eren’s or the Colossal Titan’s.
“AoT” season 4 is expected to premiere by the fall of 2020. However, fans can still look forward to a Hollywood live-action film, according to AnimeNewsNetwork.
