The long wait for “Attack on Titan” season 3 will soon be over. In the next few days, fans can finally start watching the third installment of the hit manga-turned-anime series. Meanwhile, various theories and spoilers are now up giving fans some clues on what will happen at the start of the series.

“Attack on Titan” Season 3 Premiere, Where to Watch

First, fans must need to know when they can start watching “Attack on Titan” season 3. Luckily, with the ever-growing fanbase of the franchise, there are now a number of options to watch the anime series even in countries other than Japan.

“Attack on Titan” season 3 officially airs its first episode on Sunday, July 22 in Japan through the country’s public broadcasting network NHK. But fans outside Japan should not worry. They can also watch the premiere simultaneously as it airs in Japan through various streaming platforms such us Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation.

Anime News Network reports that Funimation acquired the license to stream “Attack on Titan” season 3 dubbed in English for several countries, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Note that Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu all require monthly subscription fees. But Funimation and Crunchyroll both offer 14-day free trials for new accounts while Hulu grants 30-day free access to first-time users.

Fans who do not want to pay an extra fee on these streaming sites but have access to the cable channel Toonami can still watch “Attack on Titan” season 3. However, they will have to wait a month from now to see the anime’s new installment. Toonami confirmed earlier this week that it will start airing “Attack on Titan” season 3 on Aug. 18.

“Attack on Titan” Season 3, Episode 1 Spoilers

The “Attack on Titan” season 3’s first episode — titled “Smoke Signal” — is expected to pick up where the second season ended. Comic Book reported that “Attack on Titan” season 3’s premiere will focus on the mysterious death of Minister Nick. There are also signs of torture on the minister’s body, which implies that whoever killed him had the main purpose of extracting critical information about the Survey Corps.
