“Attack on Titan” Episode 49 is expected to blow the minds of its fan base on several fronts. For one, Eren and the rest of the Survey Corps are gearing up to take back the broken walls of the city. This countermeasure will be the biggest effort of humanity to push back against the Titans to date, a daunting task which the protagonists have been preparing for a while.
With Eren’s new hardening power now at his disposal, the battered walls can now be repaired and reinforce so that future attacks will not bring them down easily. But first, they still need to eliminate the Titans occupying the area. As such, “Attack on Titan” Episode 49 is expected to have a huge battle between the Survey Corps and the mindless giants, Otaku Kart reported.
But the team will not only be facing regular Titans as the threat of the Beast, Armored, and Colossal Titans still looms on the horizon. Even Eren’s newfound powers won’t be enough if those three show up during their counterattack. But it isn’t just the impending clash that’s going to be big in “Attack on Titan” Episode 49.
Behind the scenes, the people behind the anime will be including 15 animation directors to handle the upcoming episode. It isn’t clear why there are so many overseeing “Attack on Titan” Episode 49 and the details of this development have yet to be revealed.
While there is a precedent out there that having animation directors this many is a sign that an anime is struggling in its production, it isn’t always a negative thing. “Sword Art Online” and “Fate/Apocrypha” did have a lot of animation directors at some point of their production and certain episodes turned out to be incredible. So it's either “Attack on Titan” Episode 49 will be a stellar milestone for the shonen series or it could crumble altogether. Whatever the case, fans will have to tune in on Oct. 14 to see how these directors will shape the upcoming episode and the trajectory of the plotline.
