Ubisoft has confirmed earlier this year that it will continue supporting “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” with new content through next year. While the developer has yet to provide specific details about the next expansions, a recent datamine leak suggests Eivor is getting new abilities in a new story updated themed after the popular Norse phenomenon Ragnarök.
Ubisoft provided a teaser during its E3 Forward event last June of what to expect next in “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.” The developer only showed a 19-second clip of a fiery realm that many fans thought was a reference to Muspelheim, which is a key location related to the events of Ragnarök. Earlier this week, well-known “Assassin’s Creed” leaker j0nathan discussed newly discovered code that suggests the next expansion would be titled “Dawn of Ragnarök.”
Some of the most interesting finds in the latest leak suggest Eivor can acquire new abilities in the “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla – Dawn of Ragnarök” expansion. Some of them were mentioned in the same report, translated by Eurogamer, including the ability to revive enemies, be invisible for a short period, and the ability to fly like crows and teleportation arrows.
Details about the story of the next “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” expansion are still unknown. But Ubisoft also hinted last June that Eivor is not done with Odin yet. But just like the previous expansions, “Dawn of Ragnarök” will reportedly introduce a new main location. But j0nathan reported that the next main setting would be Svartalfheim – not Muspelheim. Svartalfheim is known as a realm where black elves or dwarves dwell in Norse cosmology.
The leaker also found references to a “trophy set for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Dawn of Ragnarök,” possibly showing some of the new achievements to be unlocked in the next expansion. Players could be rewarded trophies when they “complete all territories of Svartalfheim,” “complete the Meteor campaign,” “fully upgrade Odin’s Bracer,” and “discover all dwarven shelters.”
There is also an acknowledgment for stealth skills. The next “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” expansion has a trophy for players who can “teleport assassinate two enemies and fly away without being detected.” The trophy set also hints at Atgeir as one of the new weapons coming to the game. The next expansion is likely still in development, so it remains to be seen if all the leaked content will be included when “Dawn of Ragnarök” releases sometime in 2022.
