The December update details for Assassin’s Creed Origins have just been released and they include some pretty exciting stuff. There’s the addition of a new difficulty in the game called “Nightmare,” which from the sound of it will turn the game into Dark Souls level of frustrating. In keeping with the collaboration that the title’s developers have with Square Enix, Chocobo horses will also be added to the game because, why not?
In the official patch notes on the game’s website, the developers detail what changes players can expect from the game going forward. With regards to the new difficulty mode, it seems that the game’s enemies will “become more resilient to damages and more dangerous.”
There will also be a new “enemy scaling” feature, which will essentially add to the game’s difficulty by making low-level enemies the same as that of the player’s. This was apparently in response to the popular request of gamers, many of whom thought that combat became too easy once the main character became stronger.
Horde Mode is coming to the game, as well, which brings an event quest called Here Comes a New Challenger. As the developers describe it, it’s apparently intended to “introduce you to Horde mode to satisfy your warrior longings. You can prove yourself in the Cyrene arena against unlimited waves of foes.”
Then there’s the matter of a new quest that will be featured in the title, the reward of which will include a ridable Chocobo, Gamespot reports. This is a result of the partnership that developers of Origins and Final Fantasy XV formed, which resulted in crossover contents in both games.
For those who aren’t familiar with the giant bird mascot of the Final Fantasy franchise, it basically looks like a huge yellow chicken. The creature has basically acted as the mounts of both main characters and NPCs in the series and soon, it will appear in ancient Egypt.
