Apple on Tuesday released iOS 9.2 to the public with major improvements and fixes. The update comes after six weeks of release of the previous version iOS 9.1.
A number of improvements have been made to Apple Music – users can now create a new playlist when adding a song to a playlist, the most recently changed playlist is now listed at the top when adding songs to playlists, users can download albums or playlists from iCloud Music Library by tapping the iCloud download button, download indicator to view which songs have been downloaded, users will be able to view works, composers, and performers while browsing Classical music in the Apple Music catalog.
News app now contains a new Top Stories section that features the most important news of the day (available in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia).
iOS 9.2 has also added support for AT&T's NumberSync Wi-Fi calling feature, allowing AT&T users to accept calls on any device even when their phone is not nearby, MacRumors reported.
Accessibility improvements have also been made including adding support for VoiceOver to wake up the screen and to invoke app switcher with 3D Touch gesture. Issues fixed issues with – VoiceOver when using Camera face detection, Guided Access when trying to end phone calls and speech rate of Speak Screen. The functionality for Switch Control users when using 3D Touch has also been improved.
With the latest version, iBooks now supports 3D Touch (to peek and pop pages from the table of contents, notes and bookmarks, or from search results inside a book) as well as listening to an audiobook while browsing library, reading other books, or exploring the iBooks Store.
Apart from these, the update includes Siri support for Arabic (Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates) and several issues have been fixed which can be viewed here.
