Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in the middle of settling their child custody case and divorce and their case might go to trial soon. However, it was said that the ‘Maleficent’ actress has made a request and asked the judge to give them more time so they can settle.
According to The Blast, Angelina Jolie filed a motion to extend the appointment of the private judge who has been handling their child custody case. Based on the court documents, she wants Judge Ouderkirk to remain on the case until Dec. 31, 2019, instead of just until the end of June 2019.
Further, Angelina Jolie filed the motion because she would like Judge Ouderkirk to re-check and review all the pre-trial motions and requests that they made in the past. The actress also wants him to handle the trial if that will be needed.
The response of the court with regards to this matter may come out anytime or it may take a while. On the other hand, Brad Pitt’s camp is just waiting for the decision so they can proceed with the child custody trial.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt filed for divorce in 2016 and soon after, their child custody battle also started. They have been married for just two years and shared six children with three of them adopted.
The former “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” actors’ are parents to Maddox, 17, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Vivienne, 12 and 10-year-old twins Knox and Shiloh. Angelina Jolie wants sole physical custody of their children while Brad Pitt is fighting for joint custody.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are originally set to attend a court trial on Dec. 4 but it was postponed to a later date. As for their divorce proceedings, this is expected to be dealt with after their child custody case.
