Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still at odds on how to handle their custody agreement and the case will apparently extend to December 2019. According to Entertainment Tonight, the court has granted the couple an extension with retired judge John Ouderkirk overseeing the proceedings.
It was initially thought that the custody battle between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be coming to a close as the court has ordered them to resolve the matter before Dec. 4. If they don’t, then the court itself will decide what’s the best option for the six children.
However, that deadline has now been moved a full year as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie want to ensure that everything is in order before they sign any legal documents. It goes without saying that this drawn-out case has affected the kids in varying degrees and it’s for this reason that the court urged the ex-couple to find a middle ground.
It also doesn’t help the fact that gossip tabloids are fanning the flames between the two by publishing stories that are completely unfounded. For instance, Radar Online (via Gossip Cop) released an article saying that Brad Pitt is jealous of the newly hired male nanny who supposedly “started to bond” with the kids. The nanny in question is one Oliver Crane, a stunt coordinator who previously worked with Pitt and Angelina Jolie on multiple projects.
Of course, since Radar Online has written the piece, the story ended up as nothing more than a fabricated narrative. The tabloid is known for publishing unfounded tales similar to the piece it released in October where it claimed that Angelina Jolie threw out things left by Brad Pitt inside their house.
As for the custody battle, it’s still unclear whether it’s going to last until December 2019 or if the ex-couple could find a compromise that is agreeable for all parties involved. Right now, however, it seems that the rift between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie is hindering this possibility. Hopefully, the pair could put aside their differences and finally resolve this matter for the sake of their kids.
