Following some bad feedback on earlier releases, Lucasfilm learned their lesson to take their time in generating Star Wars material before launching their Disney+ series. The studio appears to be living up to this stance as they maintain the quality of their releases; yet, the studio still has to be certain before announcing; otherwise, disappointments ensue. “Andor Season 2” was originally announced to arrive in 2024, but a fresh update appears to clarify that it will not arrive next year.
Originally, three Star Wars series would premiere on Disney+ in 2024: “The Acolyte,” “Skeleton Crew,” and “Andor” Season 2. While the majority of the series would be released in 2024, a press release on Disney's UK website indicated that the only Lucasfilm original material available on the streaming platform would be “Star Wars: The Acolyte” and “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.” From the preceding list, it was evident that “Andor” Season 2 was left out of the press release, implying that the series led by Diego Luna would not see the light of day until 2025.
‘Andor’ Season 2 Release Date
“Andor” Season 2 was said to be slated for a fall 2024 release, bridging the two-year gap between the first and second seasons. However, the gap appears to be growing since the next update estimates a 2025 delivery date. The WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which resulted in a months-long hiatus in the series' shooting, might be a reason for the postponement of “Andor” Season 2.
‘Andor’ Season 2 Spoilers
“Andor” Season 2 sees the return of Diego Luna as the titular Cassian Andor, with the events of the prequel series' planned sequel leading directly into Rogue One. “Andor” Season 2 will include 12 episodes, which will immediately lead into the opening sequence of Rogue One. The series will be set between 0 BBY and the time of “Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope,” putting it in the midst of the timeline between the past and the future.
Stay tuned for more “Andor” Season 2 spoilers, news, and updates!
