Jordan Brand has pushed back the highly anticipated release of the Air Jordan 4 "Fear" to November 16, 2024, offering fans a nostalgic return of this iconic greyscale design. Meanwhile, Jordan Brand plans to revive another classic Air Jordan 1 colorway for 2025, the “Obsidian/University Blue” low, celebrating retro favorites in the new year.
Air Jordan 4 ‘Fear’ Returns This November, Reviving a Classic with Iconic Details
In Michael Jordan's storied legacy, “fear” is rarely associated with his name. Yet, this theme made 2013's "Fear Pack" an iconic collection in sneaker history. Now, the Air Jordan 4 from this celebrated capsule is set to make a highly anticipated return this November, offering fans a retro look at one of the collection’s most popular designs.
The gradient greyscale look made this Air Jordan 4 stand out in 2013. With the Jordan 4 maintaining its status as a fan-favorite silhouette, this holiday re-release is set to recapture that original excitement. True to its narrative origins, this reissue is expected to feature the memorable alternating insoles reading, “I’m scared of what I won’t become” and “you’re scared of what I will become.”
Following the 10th-anniversary release of the Air Jordan 3 "Fear" in 2023, this re-release of the AJ4 hints at a potential yearly “Fear” drop, likely concluding with the Jordan 5 in 2025. By spacing out the releases, Jordan Brand aligns each model’s re-release with its 35th anniversary, marking significant milestones for each silhouette. This reissue of the Air Jordan 4 “Fear” will likely serve as the final significant drop for the Jordan 4, with only the Air Jordan 4 “Net” scheduled for a later release in 2024.
The Air Jordan 4 “Fear” will be released on November 16, 2024, with an MSRP of $215 for adult sizes. Sizes for Grade School ($160), Preschool ($100), and Toddler ($85) will also be available.
Jordan Brand Revives Classic UNC Colors with Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG in 2025
Jordan Brand has often revisited classic Air Jordan colorways for new releases, and that trend continues into 2025. According to Sneaker News, the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Obsidian/University Blue,” scheduled for March, offers an homage to the famous 2019 release. Featuring Obsidian blue on the toe guard, lace collar, and Swoosh, paired with University Blue on the heel tab and heel, this colorway delivers a fresh take on the UNC Tar Heels' colors.
While the 2019 High release saw strong aftermarket demand, fetching nearly four times its retail price, the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG has generally been more accessible. It is currently expected to drop on March 22, 2025. Any adjustments to this release date will be shared on the Jordan Release Dates page.
