CHANTILLY, Va., Aug. 21, 2017 -- AMERICAN SYSTEMS today announced it was awarded a task order to support U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD)/Expeditionary Exploitation Unit ONE (EXU-1); formerly known as the Technical Support Detachment (TSD), in conducting global technical and forensic exploitation and analysis of recovered explosive ordnance, their components, and other explosive hazards, to include Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) components and systems. The single-award task order, awarded through the U.S. Navy Seaport-E contract vehicle, is valued at more than $36 million over a five-year period.
Under the terms of the task order, AMERICAN SYSTEMS will help EXU-1 provide analytical support to the continued development and revision of Joint, Navy, Service, Interagency, North American Treaty Organization (NATO) and Partner Nation doctrine and documents related to Weapons Technical Intelligence (WTI), Exploitation and EXU-1 mission sets or areas of interest.
