이스라엘 재무부는 월요일, 가자 지구에서 팔레스타인 이슬람 무장단체 하마스와의 전쟁을 재정 지원하기 위한 고액의 지출로 인해 이스라엘이 8월에 121억 셰켈(32억4천만 달러)의 예산 적자를 기록했다고 발표했다.
8월까지의 12개월 동안 적자는 GDP의 8.3%로 증가했으며, 이는 7월까지의 12개월 동안 기록한 8.0%에서 상승한 수치다. 이는 2024년 전체 목표인 6.6%와 비교된다.
작년 10월 시작된 전쟁에 대한 지출은 약 970억 셰켈에 달했다.
재무부는 3분기까지 적자가 계속해서 증가하다가 이후 다시 목표치로 돌아갈 것이라고 밝혔다.
세수는 8월에 8.1% 증가했으며, 2024년 첫 8개월 동안 1.9% 증가했다.
