So long Benny. There drops another one.
Retired Neuro-Surgeon Bren Carson probably ended his campaign, though he wasn't that explicit after the results were unimpressive for him to continue.
After full Super Tuesday results are out,
- Donald Trump is leading ahead with 319 delegates, followed by Ted Cruz with 226, Marco Rubio with 110. Compared to these top runners, Mr. Carson has so far only 8 delegates. So it's a simple calculation. For him to become nominee he will have to win 1229 delegates, out of 1777 still available, which doesn't seem feasible at the moment.
Mr. Carson, though not explicit that he is giving up said that he doesn't see a political path forward.
"I do not see a political path forward in light of last evening's Super Tuesday primary results. However, this grassroots movement on behalf of "We the People" will continue. Along with millions of patriots who have supported my campaign for President, I remain committed to Saving America for Future Generations. We must not depart from our goals to restore what God and our Founders intended for this exceptional nation."
He might officially announce his drop on Friday, while addressing in Washington.
