‘Supergirl’ Season 2, Episode 14 Spoilers: “Homecoming” – Dean Cain’s Jeremiah Danvers Returns Home Following Rescue from Cadmus; Mon-El Grows Suspicious

‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Homecoming,” will feature the return of Dean Cain’s Jeremiah Danvers after being rescued from Cadmus. Although Kara and Alex welcomed their father’s return, Mon-El gets suspicious about his sudden reappearance.

The synopsis for episode 14 posted on TV Guide reads, “Alex (Chyler Leigh) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) are thrilled to have their father, Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain), back after he's rescued from Cadmus. The Danvers arrange a family dinner to celebrate, but things go awry when a suspicious Mon-El (Chris Wood) starts to question Jeremiah about his sudden return.”

In the promo, Kara and Alex are relieved to have their father back after being rescued from Cadmus. However, Mon-El expresses his concern over the sudden turn in events saying, “Why is no one questioning this?”

It seems that Mon-El will get to Kara about his fears and suspicions. In another scene, Alex and Kara get into an argument where Alex gives her sister an ultimatum saying, “You’re either part of the family or you’re not.”

Dr. Jeremiah Danvers is the father of Alex and adoptive father of Kara. He is a brilliant scientist and former D.E.O. agent, who was presumed dead until it was revealed that he was still alive and kept at Project Cadmus. Cain’s character first appeared in a flashback in season 1’s pilot episode.

In a sneak peak posted on International Business Times, Maggie (Floriana Lima) shows up at the Danvers’ residence while the family prepares dinner. Kara answers the door and Alex rushes to greet her girlfriend before ushering her inside.

Alex then uses the opportunity to introduce Maggie to her father, who seemed supportive of her daughter’s sexual orientation. This may help Alex go through her own personal problems regarding her sexuality, which may cause some issues as the series progresses.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg talked about Alex and Maggie’s developing romance. Kreisberg said, “Because Alex has newly come out and Maggie has been out for a while and is much more comfortable in her own skin, comfortable with her sexuality, and comfortable about being a gay woman in the world, there’s been a bit of a power imbalance within the relationship.”

He continued, “Alex has been letting Maggie lead the way in the relationship. What starts to happen is, as Alex becomes more comfortable with herself and more comfortable with the relationship, some things happen that make Alex realize that they’re more partners than Alex perhaps thought, where she was like, ‘Well, Maggie’s in charge.'”

‘Supergirl’ season 2’s episode 14, titled “Homecoming,” is scheduled to air on The CW on February 27, 2017. It was directed by Larry Teng and written by Caitlin Parrish and Derek Simon. It will be followed by episode 15, titled "Exodus," directed by Michael Allowitz and scheduled to air on March 6.
