ANDOVER, Mass., Feb. 08, 2018 -- Mercury Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRCY) (www.mrcy.com) announced it has received an initial $2.0 million order for an Electro-Optic/Infra-Red (EO/IR) image processing subsystem from a major defense prime contractor. The subsystem is an enterprise architecture solution designed to apply to multiple programs and missions. The order was booked in the Company’s fiscal 2018 second quarter and is expected to be shipped over the next several quarters.
The image processing subsystem with BuiltSECURE™ technology includes numerous modules for GPU-based image processing, I/O, system management, power, and interconnect pre-integrated with a backplane and chassis. The open system architecture uses an advanced cooling technology to allow the subsystem to operate in extreme conditions of temperature, altitude, and vibration while providing the highest level of floating point performance delivered in a tactical environment.
“Mercury worked closely with our customer as an extension of their engineering team,” said Joe Plunkett, General Manager of Mercury’s Sensor Processing group. “Together we designed an EO/IR solution that is scalable and tailorable for a variety of airborne platforms and mission profiles.”
