‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Spoilers: Kit Harington Admits Ignorance at Jon Snow’s Fate, Teases “Big Change”

‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 main actor Kit Harington admitted his ignorance at Jon Snow’s fate during a recent interview. He also teased that his character will have a “big change” in the upcoming season.

During an Interview with Moviefone, Harington expressed his excitement over the upcoming seventh season of HBO’s fantasy-drama television series based on George R. R. Martin’s series of novels titled “A Song of Fire and Ice.”

The 30-year old English actor was asked about the challenges of working on “unchartered territory” for the upcoming season, considering that Martin has not released source material just yet that may serve as a guideline for the series. He replied, “It's just amazing, in some ways, having no book to go on, because the scripts come through and you're completely in the dark about what they're going to do. Believe me, I just finished Season Seven, and I am already counting down the days until I get the Season Eight scripts.”

He continued, “Everyone's been wondering how it's going to end, and what's going to happen right from the get-go, and theorizing about it. It's really exciting to me not knowing, genuinely having no idea where it's going to end, what they've got in their heads, and being the first to find out.”

It seems that Harington and his cast mates remain in the dark about their respective characters’ fates. Harington plays Jon Snow, a major character that was first introduced in season 1’s premiere episode. Jon Snow was presented as the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell but it was suggested that he was actually Eddard’s sister’s son with the Prince of Dragonstone, Rhaegar Targaryen, making him the true heir to the Iron Throne.

Harington was pressed for more details on his character to which he replied, “I sort of know where he is now. Next season will be next season, he might go through a big change, I don't know. He's dear to me. I've lived with him for so long. I think I've come into a place of felling quite emotional about him, actually, knowing that I'm not going to get to go back to him after next year.”

He added, “I'm really trying to just take stock of having lived this sort of dual life with this character, and being through so much with this character. It's been a strange journey, but I'll always be fond of it.”

Jon is set to take on a vital role in the fight against the White Walkers as well as the war in Westeros. According to Hollywood Take, speculations suggested that Jon will forge an alliance with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) to take on the army of the undead in the North. Initially, he will refuse to lay down his arms and pledge loyalty to Dany but will eventually be forced into giving up his title as King of the North to get her on his side.

‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 is expected to return on HBO on July 16, 2017. The series is set to conclude with season 8, scheduled to be released sometime in 2018.
