NZD/USD chart - Trading View
NZD/USD was trading 0.92% lower on the day at 0.6811 at around 09:15 GMT.
The pair has breached major trendline support at 0.69 and is extending previous session's slump.
Dovish RBNZ on Wednesday, strong greenback and escalating virus woes keep the kiwi pair under pressure.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's efforts that signaled hopes to tame the latest virus spread in the nation failed to limit losses.
On the other side, US dollar bulls remain unabated after July Fed meeting’s minutes ramped up tapering expectations for the final quarter of this year.
Technical bias for the pair is bearish. A 'Death Cross' on the daily charts limits any corrective upticks.
NZD/USD inches closer towards next major support at 200-week MA at 0.6757. Break below finds next support at 38.2% Fib at 0.67.
