Ardor blockchain launch to get a shot in the arm with $150,000 bounty

In order to help launch the Ardor blockchain, a whale in the NXT community named ‘Megalodon’ is offering 5 million NXT (approximately $150,000) to all who run NXT nodes.

The blockchain-as-a-service platform Ardor is built on the successful Nxt technology and is designed with unlimited scalability, safe smart contracts, and customizable child chains. Those interested in a stake in Ardor can get it by holding NXT. The average amount of NXT that a user holds from the 14th of July to the 12th of October will determine how many Ardor tokens they get with a 1:1 ratio.

The bounty of 5 million NXT is being distributed via the NXT 'forging' process, which is the equivalent of Proof of Work mining with Bitcoin with a deterministic lottery. At least 1000 NXT is required to run a node and chances of mining the block and getting the bounty will be determined by a user’s account balance.

In an official statement sent to EconoTimes, the Nxt Foundation said that large NXT holders and community members are passing their right to the bounty to new Node runners.

This is one of the first times a community has stepped forward with such a massive bounty to grow the network”, it added. “The NXT client, being incredibly lightweight, opens other options too. The Nxt community has come forward with a method to run the Nxt client on a Raspberry Pi. This will give anyone a chance to claim this $150,000 bounty at extremely low cost and on autopilot. Nxt also has the option to 'lease' accounts for forging, which pools the NXT forging power. Since these pools run 24/7 you can further boost your chance to get a piece of the $150,000 (5 million NXT) bounty.”

No registrations are required and users can simply download the NXT client and run the node. Interested users can reach the Nxt community for setup process on the nxtforum or join the Nxt Slack.
