“Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 is going to be quite the task for the animation studio as it’s expected to adapt 80 chapters from the manga for only 12 to 13 episodes, Comic Book reported. And given the format, it’s speculated that a lot of things are going to be left out of the next installment.
But even though this is the case, “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 is still touted as gripping, especially now that Furuta is going to be the main antagonist in the coming installment. It can be recalled that the director of the Commission of Counter Ghoul turned on his comrade and lied about having anything to do with the attack.
It’s still unclear what Furuta’s intentions are going forward but it’s safe to say that it’s a horrific arc given that he was responsible for the steel beam incident. “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 will have the director go against the main protagonist of the series and it’s highly likely this conflict will produce a lot of dead bodies.
The first visual for “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 features Touka and Kaneki behind a dilapidated version of Tokyo. While quotidian at first glance, the poster hints at a lot of damaging conflicts in the upcoming installment given how decayed the city looks.
Has the human race now been pushed to the sidelines? Are ghouls now at the top of the hierarchy? One can only speculate. But seeing as how ghouls are far superior to humans, this might very well be the case. Of course, they couldn’t completely wipe the entire race from existence since ghouls need the flesh of men in order to thrive. “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 will continue with this premise, with Kaneki trying to take control of his unwanted nature.
The upcoming installment is slated to premiere in October, although no specifics have been released just yet. Even so, fans are still on the edge of their seats as “Tokyo Ghoul” Season 4 still has a lot of loose ends to tie in order to proceed to its next arc.
