Fans of “One Piece” can look forward to the Whole Cake Island arc coming to its conclusion soon. Pedro has already sacrificed himself in “One Piece's” episode 849 – freeing the Thousand Sunny from Perospero's hardened candy and incapacitating Big Mom with the resulting explosion. With the hardened candy that was preventing the Thousand Sunny from escaping, and the momentary confusion that affects the rest of Big Mom's crew after being hit by Pedro's actions, the Straw Hat Pirate crew now have a chance to make their aerial getaway.
While Perospero's fate has yet to be revealed after Pedro's sacrifice, fans know that the rest of the Straw Hat Pirate Crew are still in danger with Big Mom's own crew still controlling most of the Whole Cake island. With Big Mom's crew still holding the advantage based on numbers, it looks like “One Piece” episode 850 will be a daring escape plan that could leave more casualties among the Straw Hat Pirates.
The “One Piece” episode 850 preview shows Carrot attacking what could be Katakuri onboard the Thousand Sunny, the success of which is not revealed. The preview also mentions that Big Mom and Katakuri's crew will be assaulting the Thousand Sunny, which would pit the Straw Hat Pirates into a battle against Big Mom's superior numbers. The preview teases that Luffy may need to pull Katakuri into a one-on-one standoff that can give the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates a better chance at fighting off Big Mom's crew and escaping.
While fans may be worried that Luffy may be putting himself in danger by facing Katakuri alone, the Straw Hat Pirate captain will potentially choose to sacrifice himself for his crew over giving up to honor Pedro's sacrifice in destroying Perospero's hard candy.
“One Piece” episode 850 already aired on Aug. 19. Fans of the series can catch the wacky adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates on Crunchyroll.
