“NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 is well underway in telling the story of Pride (Scott Bakula), LaSalle (Lucas Black), and the rest of the Louisiana squad. The next episode is set to feature more of LaSalle, particularly regarding the tax fraud investigation involving the character’s family, Carter Matt reported.

This storyline has already been established in the previous installment and the upcoming episode is set to explore or even resolve this complication. “New Orleans” Season 5 will have more of this character development storyline rolling along, as confirmed by showrunner Christopher Silber.

Silber explained that since Pride will not be working in the field for a while, the team will have to adjust to their new leader, Hannah Khoury (Necar Zadegan). This change in leadership will not only affect the squad but will also have Pride questioning where he stands, which the character is already doing. Following his failed assassination, Pride has now been given the mantle of SAC (Special Agent in Charge), a title that he’ll be hard-pressed to fill in “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5.

The difficulty comes amidst the change of pace for Pride, something that is glaringly obvious in the third episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5. Indeed, while Pride is used to being informed about a certain situation before discussing the best path moving forward, now he has to constantly think on his feet.

Add the fact that he’s at odds with Assistant Special Agent in Charge Steven Thompson (Reggie Lee) and the transition of roles will be even more challenging for Pride. And this doesn’t count the fact that he’s still recovering from the gunshot wounds he suffered in the hands of Amelia Parsons (Ellen Hollman), the assassin.

It was revealed that Parsons’s motivation revolves around vengeance as Pride killed her husband during a deadly altercation the year earlier. While her attempt was thwarted, Parsons did manage to cripple the team and send every member of the squad questioning their commitment to their cause. All of the uncertainty and challenges will continue to unfold when the fourth episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” Season 5 airs on Oct. 16.
