BOSTON, Aug. 16, 2017 -- dataxu®, a leading software provider, today reinforced its commitment to its self-serve platform customers with the hiring of Peter Kosmala as its new Vice President of Platform Solutions. This key new hire is the latest in a string of recent advancements dataxu has invested in for its self-serve users, primarily comprised of agencies, which is the company’s fastest-growing customer segment.
As Vice President of Platform Solutions, Kosmala brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to this strategic new role at dataxu. Prior to joining dataxu, Kosmala spent more than five years at the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) as Senior Vice President of Government Relations. There, he was the principal government representative on behalf of member ad agencies and advocated business concerns before Federal and state lawmakers, regulators, standards bodies, the media and the marketplace.
Kosmala also served as the first managing director of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) where he helped launch "AdChoices,” a cross-industry effort that offers online consumers choice in the use of their data in interest-based digital advertising. Mr. Kosmala has worked for the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and pioneering Internet holding company CMGI Inc. He formed the nucleus of the first media sales team at Wired magazine and Hotwired, the first ad-supported website, and has held business and creative roles at EURO RSCG/MVBMS Partners and Wells Rich Greene/BDDP. He will report to dataxu CRO Ed Montes.
“The relationships we have with our agency customers drive our business at dataxu,” said Kosmala. “Agencies today provide tremendous value to brands, and by leveraging DataXu’s easy-to-use self-serve platform TouchPoint™, agencies can improve performance across the digital marketing plan and deliver indispensable services on a daily basis.”
Earlier this year, dataxu rolled out a completely redesigned user interface for self-serve customers of its TouchPoint DSP. Leading user experience (UX) research firm Validately conducted a head-to-head usability study of five industry-leading programmatic platforms, including TouchPoint, The Trade Desk, and Google DBM among others. According to the study, dataxu’s TouchPoint platform ranked #1 in overall campaign management based on end user ratings of usability when compared to the other four platforms. dataxu also launched the first self-serve platform for OTT TV buying with custom audiences in May, enabling a holistic cross-device experience centered on connected TV devices.
“Our self-serve business has always been at the core of our success at dataxu,” said Ed Montes, dataxu’s CRO. “With the addition of Peter to our senior leadership team and the recent rollout of TouchPoint’s new user interface, we’re excited to expand our partnerships with platform users and utilize Peter's first-hand knowledge to enable key opportunities for agencies and brand marketers in 2017 and beyond.”
