KFC fans in Japan last weekend were deprived of the comfort food satisfaction they’d been craving for when the fast-food chain ran out of French fries due to potato shortage.
The reason was the disruption of the supply routes for KFC Japan’s potatoes, which the chain imports.
KFC customers have taken to social media to express their sentiments.
While not every KFC branch has suspended French fry sales, the shipping and logistical woes would keep new shipments of potatoes from coming in.
KFC Japan is hoping to start selling French fries again on October 21, though the supply of potatoes remains uncertain and the product’s availability may vary by branch.
