The Xiaomi SU7 is making waves with its hidden fish mode, demonstrated by a fisherman using the frunk for live fish storage. With a 105-liter waterproof compartment and easy-to-drain design, this EV brings surprising versatility to the road.
Xiaomi SU7 Introduces Hidden Fish Mode
According to CarNewsChina.com, a lesser-known feature of the Xiaomi SU7 is the fish mode, which is similar to many other electric vehicles' pet modes. This was recently shown by a passionate fisherman who owns a Xiaomi SU7, following prominent usage by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun.
Although the term "fish mode" may be a bit of a stretch, Lei Jun did say that he could use the Xiaomi SU7's trunk to store his caught fish without the unpleasant odor that would normally accompany them.
Spacious Frunk Offers Practical Utility for Xiaomi SU7 Owners
When it comes to Chinese electric vehicles, the Xiaomi SU7 boasts one of the roomiest trunks on the market. The 105-liter unit is constructed of plastic, as are the majority of frunks. It lacks lining, but it has two little rubber plugs on the base for when it becomes wet.
Because of this function, it is ideal for transporting fish and can even be used to submerge the fish in water. This also makes scrubbing and cleaning the frunk after such use much easier due to its drainage ability. The intended seal prevents liquid from seeping into other areas of the vehicle is also present.
Fishing Enthusiast Highlights the Frunk's Hidden Potential
Someone who enjoys fishing has filled the frunks of their Xiaomi SU7 with about seven big fish, as shown in an online video. To be honest, I don't think these will fit in the trunk. While onlookers check the frunk for leaks, it turns out there are none.
In 2024, the Xiaomi SU7 was a hot item. Starting in April, Xiaomi was able to produce 135,000 vehicles before the year's end, despite the fact that it had never manufactured a car before.
YU7 Set to Build on Xiaomi SU7's Success in the EV Market
A sales goal of 300,000 was announced by Lei Jun in his New Year's program for the year 2025. Given that Xiaomi's second model, the YU7, is expected to start delivery around the middle of the year, this is probably on the conservative side.
The YU7 will be manufactured in the second stage of Xiaomi's Beijing facility. The objective of 300,000 should be easily attainable, considering the company's current monthly delivery of over 20,000 SU7 models.
